Frode, I had a bit of trouble there where the waves were smashing together from different directions and I had to brace to stay upright. In most cases the sail seems to add stability for me; it acts like a big fin in the wind keeping my kayak more stable than without.
Sorry about your camera, I still think this image is awesome. Just wondering, is it hard to roll with the sail if you have bad luck and flip around? Or does it collapse and make no difference?
The camera can be replaced and luckily I didn't loose the best imagery. I am not very good at rolling with a sail when the wind is blowing but I have successfully rolled in calmer conditions. If one has the presence of mind and does not panic, the mast can be collapsed with just a flick of the rope (release the uphaul from the cleat) to then allow a scull back up. Yeah, easier said then done when it's windy and bumpy... :-)

Awesome photo! Isn't it hard to maneuver the kajak with the sail in those waves?
